‘Yeva’ grabs Best Screenplay Award from Golden Apricot Yerevan Filmfest in Armenia

Iran-Armenia film ‘Yeva’ has succeeded to receive Best Screenplay Award from the 15th edition of Golden Apricot Yerevan International Film Festival in Armenia.

Directed by Anahid Abad, the flick represented Iran at the Armenian film festival and won Best Screenplay Award of the event.

The flick stars many recognized actors and actresses from Armenia such as Narine Grigoryan and Shant Hovhannisyan. The movie is also set to apply for a slot at the latest edition of Cannes Film Festival.

‘Yeva’, a woman who is under prosecution in connection with her husband’s murder, faces challenges in her life, the movie synopsis read.

Golden Apricot Yerevan International Film Festival was founded in 2004 with the co-operation of the "Golden Apricot" Fund for Cinema Development, the Armenian Association of Film Critics and Cinema Journalists. 

The 2018 edition of the event was held on July 15, in Yerevan, Armenia .
